PROSECUTORS have abandoned a serious assault trial following problems with witnesses. Scott McCluskey was due to stand trial this week at Teesside Crown Court accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The 18-year-old of Briggs Avenue, South Bank had been facing trial after an incident last April in South Bank.
He denied the wounding charge. On Tuesday the court issued an arrest warrant for a witness who had failed to turn up. The complainant Lee Bide, 19, also told prosecutor Matthew Bean on Wednesday that he would not give evidence.See the full content of this document
