I TOTALLY agree with Cllr Elder about the need for a new swimming pool in Middlesbrough (Time We Got Back In The Swim, 25.06.10) and I have an idea for a good site for it.

I don't know who owns the derelict building to the north of the GPO which used to be a B&Q and a furniture shop but it is a big area with its own car park near to the bus station, so perhaps it could be purchased and redeveloped.
