IT WAS Boro by numbers as the last match before the transfer window slams shut ended with booing. Bubbling Boro dominated territory and possession and spurned a string of sitters to seal victory against rock-bottom Preston - Marvin Emnes and Leroy Lita the culprits this week -then leaked the now obligatory late goal and dropped two precious points, an outcome that surprised only the wild- eyed optimists and the congenitally naive.
