"THERE is obviously a reason why your son is getting upset. "Is it that he doesn't know how to do his homework? Or that he hasn't been listening in class? "It may be that his teacher has just given an overview of the subject and has given homework to see how they get on. "Whatever the reason it is worth a visit to your son's school to talk to his teacher. "Sometimes teachers give out different homework to suit different children's abilities, it may be that he has picked the wrong homework up.

"Or if it is just that your son doesn't want to do his homework the thought of you going to talk to his teacher could be enough to motivate him. "Saying no to fun things like football or playing on games consoles until after homework is a good way of getting the job done. "I would also recommend sitting down and doing homework straight away on the evening it was set. Don't leave it until the night before. "Nine times out of 10 they will have done it that day so it will be fresh in their minds."
