MIDDLESBROUGH Under-15s eased through to round three of the ESFA Inter Association Trophy with a narrow 2-1 victory against South Northumberland at Newlands School.

Nathan Lowe opened the scoring for Boro on 20 minutes. South Northumberland came back strongly after the restart and leveled the scores on 50 minutes to set up a tense finale.
