Summary
AT last the go ahead for our new town centre is in sight. Having seen the plans in exhibition in one of the shops, it all looks lovely - better lighting, better security, great new shops, new toilets, new seating.
But will the people who use the town centre keep it clean? Will there be chewing gum, dog dirt paper bags, food and cigarette ends thrown on the floor? The people who clean the centre deserve medals, what would we do without them? Most residents of Billingham would have liked it all under cover, like Hartlepool, as it is a very cold and draughty place even in the summer.
