IT seems we have now done to South Bank police station what the Germans tried to do but failed.
Indeed South Bank has the dubious distinction of being the first town in mainland Britain to be bombed in the Second World War. I remember as a child being sent back home and therefore missing a day at school because of the damage caused by a bomb to the station and Attewell's Shop.See the full content of this document
