IN the article Anger At Bin Costs (News, 26.10.09) which announced that stolen wheelie bins in Middlesbrough would cost the resident pounds 20 to replace, Cllr Paul Thompson urged residents to take precautions like locking bins away.
More than two years ago I suggested we follow the lead of a senior citizen in Beechwood who, along with fellow residents, was tired of his bin being stolen to be torched on the Black Path. He bought some small padlock/chains for less than pounds 4 each, drilled a wall to the rear of their homes and it has never been stolen since.See the full content of this document
