Summary
IN the 1970s councils ran council estates and council workers cut the grass. Everyone knew their place and, assuming the unions agreed, there was a place for everyone.
Today the council houses are Erimus houses, and the grass is going to be cut by a firm from Wales. It's good to see these outside workers are leading forward the march of privatisation in Teesside, a trend started by Mrs Thatcher and carried on under New Labour.See the full content of this document
