MYSTERY still surrounds the death of former welder's mate Joan Russell, 76, of Mandale House Nursing Home in Stockton, who died at the home on August 22.
Mrs Russell had a history of medical problems and had been exposed to asbestos and various gases during her early working life on a shipyard. Consultant pathologist Dr Jan Lowe gave the cause of death as a lung infection and said there was no evidence that it had been caused by asbestos exposure.
