WHAT treasures can be found quite by chance.

When Peter and Anita Wiseman had the unhappy task of clearing Peter's late mother's home in Stockton a few years ago, Peter made amazing discovery. He was in the process of getting a final reading from the electric meter in a small cupboard when he noticed, hidden away at the back behind the meter a large piece of folded paper. Carefully he removed it, shaking the dust of the years away. It was very fragile, so Peter cautiously unfolded it and was astonished at what he found. During the war years Peter's father Eric Wiseman served his country as an ARP (Air Raid Precaution) warden in Stockton. The large piece of paper, which Peter had found was a relic from his father's time in the ARP.
