Summary
HAVING completed the 2011 census, I note the cost of this exercise is estimated at some pounds 500m. A substantial element of that cost has been the requirement to employ 30,000 part-time translators who will be assisting in some 56 different languages, almost the same number of dialects, and the incredible growth in the UK population over the last ten years of some 3.5 million, three times the number of the previous three decades.
It did not inspire confidence to learn that in excess of 3 million failed to complete the 2001 census - and only 38 were successfully prosecuted.See the full content of this document
