A FEW weeks ago we had a look at Corporation Road on Then and Now, featuring the old Corporation Hotel. So many readers contacted us with their memories that we decided to have another look at how much this street has changed over the years - but this time a few hundred yards further on where Linthorpe Road crosses Corporation Road.

The most obvious difference between the two photographs is that the whole area has now been pedestrianised - but ironically more pedestrians are visible in the 1963 photograph than the recent one, probably because the cameraman caught the moment when the traffic lights allowed the shoppers to cross the road.
