A HUNDRED new apprentices have beaten off strong competition to start their careers in engineering.
The lucky 100, aged between 16 and 20, are taking up engineering apprenticeships this month following a highly successful Build Your Future event that attracted 1,200 visitors and 900 applications. Aimed at boosting skills levels in the industry it was organised by the North-east region of the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) and supported by UK Steel Enterprise, the Corus subsidiary that supports new and growing businesses in steel areas.See the full content of this document
