Summary
A man died after a "massive sudden haemorrhage" in his groin following surgery, an inquest heard.
Albert Butterwick, 63, of Costa Street, Middlesbrough, died on January 25 at James Cook University Hospital, two days after he was admitted. The retired labourer had undergone bypass surgery on December 29 after doctors found blocked arteries in his right leg. An incision in his groin as part of the surgery had later led to bleeding, consultant vascular surgeon Christopher Wood told the inquest.
