TEESSIDE charities and voluntary organisations can now enlist the help of a specialist team at The Co-operative Bank devoted to the voluntary sector in the North. The Northern team is led by senior manager Barbara Hodgson and is based at the bank's head office in Manchester. The team covers the whole of the North and provides tailor-made banking services and expertise to charities with a turnover in excess of pounds 1m. The work of the specialist charities team for the North supports that of the bank's corporate banking centre (CBC) for the North-east based on Grey Street, Newcastle. Jeff Fryer, business development manager at the CBC, lives on Teesside and is a long-term supporter of Tees Pride.

The Co-operative Bank's charity team was started in 1996 to meet the needs of the charitable and voluntary sector by providing a bespoke banking service tailored to customers' individual requirements.
