AT a time when we are embroiled in a war in Afghanistan, deep in recession with no sign of escape, when the pain of recession will be felt worst in the North, when we face the prospect of huge public finance cuts, reductions in public services, further unemployment, the spectre of VAT being added to food and books, when the threat at Corus is by no means removed, when our chemical industries face ever shrinking devastation, when the crime figures continue to soar, when 244 elderly people have died from hypothermia in the past nine years, when the MPs' expenses scandal continues to throw up further revelations, what does my MP Ashok Kumar write about?
