THE 2012 Olympics will undoubtedly have a major impact on the overall economy of the United Kingdom, from the money it will cost to build the necessary facilities and improve the infrastructure, to the profits that will be generated through the influx of spectators from around the world.
While much of this impact is expected to be positive, it seems that the main feeling of the Teesside engineering sector is one of anxiety and trepidation, as firms prepare themselves for the 'skills drainage' that is expected to materialise as workers migrate South to work on the Olympics project.See the full content of this document
