Don't Miss Out On Valuable Work Experience

EMPLOYERS in the region are missing out on the business benefits of taking on a school leaver or graduate for work experience, according to new research. The Populus survey of 500 UK business leaders for the Backing Young Britain campaign claims although almost nine in 10 employers (87%) view work experience as good practice, over half (55%) feel it only benefits the individual and not their organisation.

The final year BA (Hons) Business Management student has won the North East final of Shell Step 2009. A INQUEST into the death of a 22-year-old Teesside labourer has been adjourned, pending the outcome of a criminal trial. Gareth Stonehouse, of Muriel Street, Carlin Howe died on May 9. A LIVESTOCK haulier company has been fined after a seriously lame cow was sent to slaughter at a Stockton abattoir. Andrew Atkinson Livestock Limited, based at Croft House Farm, Harrogate pleaded guilty at Teesside Magistrates Court to three offences of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, which included while being transported.
