Mum's Words of Warning 10 Years On From Losing Her Bright Young Girl

A TEESSIDE mum is urging women to be more aware of the dangers of toxic shock syndrome 10 years after losing her teenage daughter to the condition. Carol Martell of Acklam will never get over the death of 13-year- old Kayleigh but she hopes she can stop others having to suffer the same heartache.

Heart Clinic Paces Itself

A NEW service is making a huge difference to heart patients north of the Tees. Patients from Stockton, Billingham and Hartlepool no longer have to travel to Middlesbrough to have a pacemaker fitted as it can now be done closer to home at the University Hospital of Hartlepool.

Joining Forces

THE Royal British Legion's Osmotherley branch has signed up with the Army Cadet Force's Stokesley detachment to work more closely together. RBL branch chairman, David Black stated: "For example, the cadets will help with the Poppy Appeal and we can support their fundraising efforts. It is I suppose, the past -Legion members, supporting the future -Army cadets."

A ROW over pay has broken out at a Teesside town hall. Redcar and Cleveland Council want to stop paying enhancements - extra cash paid to workers during unsociable hours - to staff.
