Water Great Success! ; Swim School Wins Praise: School has a Pool Full of Awards
SWIM training company Water Babies is celebrating a string of successes which include a Distinction in a rigorous quality assurance assessment. The STAmark, awarded through the Swimming Teachers Association, was introduced in 2004, to help set the benchmark for standards in an otherwise unregulated industry.
FINAL approval has been given by Middlesbrough Council's Executive to site the new Trinity Catholic College on Saltersgill Avenue. Middlesbrough Mayor Ray Mallon told the Executive the original decision to site the school at Hall Drive, Acklam, was "the worst decision I have ever endorsed". The new school will bring together the existing schools of St David's at Hall Drive and Newlands at Saltersgill Avenue.

A FORMER Teesside nightclub boss has re-appeared in court alongside his elderly mother in connection with drugs charges going back 15 years. The case of Gary Robb, 46, and his mother Mavis Robb, 71, was heard behind closed doors at Teesside Crown Court on Monday. Gary Robb ran the Colosseum Club in Norton in the 1990s before moving to Northern Cyprus where he became a property developer.
A MAN who throttled a friend while telling him "I"m going to kill you" has been jailed for four years. Paul Summersgill, 34, of Middlesbrough, turned on Bernard Hodgson - who he knew grabbing him by the throat twice, pinning him to the floor, and throwing a chair at him while the pair watched television together.
